Saved By A Rake by Em Taylor

What a wonderful story!!!  I absolutely loved it.  First, let me say that Ms.  Taylor handled a delicate situation beautifully. From the synopsis, we know that Rebecca has been hurt in one of the worst ways possible.  Daniel, a handsome rake, steps in as her protector.  The love, patience and understanding he handles her with is admirable.  I want my own Daniel.  LOL  But seriously, I cried at some parts, knowing the pain Rebecca dealt with and the frustration Daniel went through.  I laughed at the egos and male posturing later on in the story.  And, not to mention Rebecca's innocence and curiousity that had Daniel lost for words at times.
I have to say that I truly loved this story.  I highly recommend this book!

When Lady Rebecca Eversley is left ravished by the Earl of Newthorpe and facing ruination, she has the choice to point her pretty little nose in the air and face the gossips of the Ton or scurry off to the country to live out her life as an old maid. When she meets Lord Daniel Ramsey, a notorious rake, she decides on the former course of action.
Daniel has been given an ultimatum, marry before his father dies or lose the majority of his inheritance money. Rebecca seems the perfect candidate, especially once rumours about her start to circulate in the drawing rooms of Mayfair.
When Newthorpe is found dead on the morning of their wedding, the people they care about find themselves suspects in the case. Who murdered Newthorpe and can Rebecca ever get over what he did to her?

Updates on Reviews

Hello friends! I just wanted to provide a quick update and let you know that I haven't disappeared from the face of the planet...I promise!

With the kids being home for the summer and my growing belly, things got wayyyy behind. Now, we have the kids back in school and a newborn little girl. So, it's been a bit hectic, to say the least. Now I see why companies give 6 weeks for new moms to return to work. It's just insanity!!

Anyway, I am getting my head on straight again and will resume my reviews. I've read some AMAZING books lately (easier to set down a book then to stop typing, when the kids needed me) and now have to catch up reviews for those books as well as a few new requests that have come in. I also would love to do some unsolicited reviews for books that I really loved.

Thank you for your patience. And, for those who sent me well wishes and congratulatory messages...THANK YOU.

Here's our little peanut, Julianna, born 9/9/13.

Much love to you all!!  <3

Hers to Choose by Patricia Knight

Hers to Choose

by

Patricia Knight

I'd like to first say that this is book two, the first book is called Hers to Command.  My review for that book is HERE

Now, some readers will be able to jump right in to book two and catch up fairly well with the story.  However, it is my recommendation that you read the previous book first, to best understand everything in book two, Hers to Choose.

With that being said, once again, I truly enjoyed Ms. Knight's erotic story.  There is a lot to understand about how the planet Verdantia needs it's people to flourish, who the enemies are as well as how the characters all fit together.  And, again, that can best be explained in book one.  Book two starts off with a prologue that will give you some insight as to what is going on.  Then, the story itself starts off with a bang...um, pun intended  *wink*.

From there, the story is one of high emotion.  Between the danger and the love, I was constantly in a state of anxious reading.  The heroine, Sophi, whom we met in book one, has seen much pain and suffering in her life.  She has spent the last few years turning everything around and is a flight leader in charge of a group of women archer's with exceptional fighting skill.  She has evolved to a woman of great strength, amazing bravery and exceptional leadership.  A strong woman in every sense of the word.  However, her brother has sent word that she should consider a joining with Commander DeStroia to help serve their beloved planet.  She reluctantly agrees, if only to fulfill her duty and return to her life as flight leader shortly after.

Commander Eric DeStroia is commissioned to accompany Lady Sophi on a long journey which will bring her back to her brother.  Along the way, the two encounter danger after danger after danger.  Lady Sophi is a prize for the enemy and they go out of their way to kidnap her.  As I mentioned earlier, there is much danger.  There are violent confrontations, sword fighting, deaths, torture and kidnapping.  Somewhere through it all, Sophi and Eric begin to see more to one another.  They have a powerful connection that no one knows about nor understands.  But, it is that very connection that will lead to victory for the people of Verdentia.

Our tetriarch makes a return appearance, as one is Sophi's brother...remember Doral?  There is a wonderful HEA, which I love!  And, of course, a planet that survives on sexual arousal creates a story packed with HOT sex to make the pulse race.  I enjoy erotic stories.  I enjoy romance.   I enjoy science fiction.  When you put the three together, as Ms. Knight has done, a triad of entertainment is created.  If you enjoy these types of stories, you will love this one as well.  But, again, grab book one FIRST!

The previous book Hers to Command can be found here:  http://amzn.com/B00D5KVIV2

To preserve their civilization, a disillusioned warrior and a violated innocent need to put aside the trauma of their past to confront a present evil.

Mentally scarred from her years as prisoner to the off-world invaders, Lady Sophillia Glorianna DeLorion, doubts she can be a fit sexual partner for any man...

...even one whose passionate green eyes make her remember what it is to desire.

Commander of the Queen’s Royal Guard, Eric DeStroia had grown up watching the corrosive, soul-killing effects of arranged, aristocratic marriage and vowed to remain alone. But under his hardened military exterior, Eric has a kind heart. When the second Tetriarch suggests he marry a noble woman rescued from the enemy, Eric reconsiders, consoling himself with visions of sheltering a wounded dove under his mighty arm. Instead, he discovers a fierce falcon that refuses to stoop to his lure.

In the aftermath of their resounding defeat, a survivor from the enemy camp plotted a return to Verdantia to exact retribution. His first objective is the recapture of Lady Sophillia DeLorion. She had been unreachable until she went to the Oshtesh. Now, only Eric DeStroia stands in his way.

The Petrosian Invitation by TP Keating

The Petrosian Invitation by T.P. Keating

I really enjoyed this story. It was a nice change from the normal 'vampire romance' books because it dealt more with the characters and their interaction with one another than the vampire aspect. The reader knows what Oleg is, but as they read the story, they start to understand who he is. And, I truly enjoyed Sam and her sister, Zoe. Not being British, some of their humorous comments flew over my head at first (happens to me a LOT by the way), but once I caught on, I found the story to be quite entertaining. I believe the author has thoughts of acquiring a new cover. Otherwise, I did find a few typos but nothing to take away from the story, itself. I read it in one sitting and truly enjoyed it. Hope you do as well!

**A copy of this book was given to me by the author for the purpose of a fair and honest review.**

Oleg Petrosian, the self-made Russian Billionaire, wonders when his un-beating heart will experience a glimmer of love. On a business trip to London, to seal a gas deal, he meets Sam Latham, the chef at a swanky restaurant in South Kensington. After she caters for a business meeting at his nearby home, his private Learjet (flown by his cosmonaut sister) whisks Oleg, Sam and her younger actress sister to Oleg's cliff top home in Russia's Anapa, a health resort on the Black Sea. But can their fledgling romance survive Oleg's deep, dark secret?

"How easy it is, to walk in. How hard it can be to leave. When her life was strewn with the wreckage of emotional betrayals, by men she had loved and trusted. Wreckage that had left scars no eye could see, but which cut down to her very soul. The soul of a woman with so much love to give. But that was before, back in London. To hell with those idiot boys! Let their names be ripped from the history book, burned to a crisp and scattered on the four winds. May their search for love forever be damned. Here and now, on this glorious summer day, she declared the scars well and truly healed. She walked in because she wanted to walk in. Deliberately, and with her head held high."

So Many Books, So Little Time

I've been reading a LOT over the past two weeks.  Mostly, because the kids have had a hectic school schedule and now summer break is upon us.  We are adjusting to the new schedule, as well as OB visits for me, dentist visits for the kids and other random things.  So, it's been easy to start a book and then pause it while I handle the day-to-day stuff. Writing is a bit tricky because that requires undivided attention.  LOL

Didn't want you all to think I've fallen off the planet.  I have read some AMAZING books lately.  In fact, thanks to a few email lists I am on, I grab between one to five new freebies PER DAY.  From medieval romance to thrillers and more!  Now, I just need to review them.  LOL

I don't always ask to review books, nor do I get many requests at present.  However, I just love to read, love to write and combine the two loves in to reviews that I hope will draw more readers to these wonderful authors.  I also use some of the Amazon reviews I've previously done and expand on them for my blog readers.

I don't give "star" ratings though.  I wonder though...do my readers want me to?  Leave me a comment and let me know.  I am not sure if the typical 5 stars is enough.  MOST of the books I read are 4 or 5 and I feel redundant and maybe even unrealistic if I keep giving only 4 or 5.  Is there a better rating?  Like grades between 4 and 5.  If it's only a 3, I usually don't finish it and therefore, don't even review it.  I just keep quiet about it cause I don't think I am helping the author with a rating of less than 4...I'd rather just not review it.

Anyway, would LOVE your comments, thoughts, ideas, suggestions and questions...just leave them in the comment box.  Surely, someone else will have the same thoughts as you and benefit from the feedback.

More Reviews Coming SOON!!!!

Hot on Her Trail by Sable Hunter

Hot on Her Trail

in the Hell Yeah! Series

by Sable Hunter

First, let me say that this is book two in a series, just so you know that ahead of time.  Ms. Hunter has done a fabulous job of creating a book series where each book is ALSO intended to stand alone.  I love that!  Nothing worse then getting in to an awesome story only to be left hanging and have to buy (if you can) the next book.  There are plenty of characters to create a very long series of HOT stories that will get your heart racing in more ways then one.

Now, let's get on to this particular book.  In this book, Jessie and Jacob have come in to one anothers acquaintance in an unusual manner.  I won't go in to that, since the synopsis, sample chapters and book itself will reveal all. Let's just say that a baby is the center of their meeting.  What neither banked on was an intense sexual and emotional relationship.  Jessie, like too many women, has lived a life feeling inadequate and ugly.  Her family & friends made her feel that her curves were ugly and her disability was embarrassing.  But, that changes when Jacob sees her and begins to help her feel beautiful, smart and wanted.  But, with a lifetime of self-doubt, it is hard for Jessie to truly believe Jacob wants her.

The McCoys are a strong, close family of almost completely males with one exception, which is Libby (meet her in Book One).  Jacob is the second oldest and after years of sowing his "wild oats" he now is ready to settle down.  He's always been the heart of the family and now he finds that his own heart craves more.  In Jessie, Jacob finds everything he could ever want and more than he'd ever dreamt of.  The only problem is getting her to believe that...oh and the fact that suspicious heinous acts are happening on the family ranch AND Jessie's past is coming back to haunt her at Tebow.

This story is full of hot sex, adoration, love, family bonding as well as dark and dangerous happenings that threaten a future for Jacob and Jessie.  For awhile, I was shocked and scared, but by the end, everything turned around.  I love my Happily Every Afters!!

There are sneak peaks of a couple of the other books in the series and I am anxious to get my hands on the other books.  I've set my sights on Book Three, Her Magic Touch, to see what happens between Joseph and Cady.  As I said, each book is stand alone, but at the same time, I can't wait to go forward in the story, which would take me to number three.  I will have to back track to number one at some point!  *LOL*

Final thoughts:  Loved it!  Romantic, funny, dramatic, a little scary for awhile but a wonderful HEA and a damn HOT cover to boot!!!

An Erotic Romance Jacob McCoy wishes for a wife and a family. Tis the Season for miracles when a young woman shows up on his doorstep: homeless, in danger and expecting a child - Jacob's child.

Their relationship is complicated by the fact that, A - they've never met before and B - she's a virgin. Jessie is determined not to be a burden to the McCoy family. As far as she's concerned, she is just passing through. Jacob has a different opinion - he wants Jessie in his life, in his bed and in his heart.

This became one of my favorite sections, right off the bat!

"This morning, Nathan went out to look for Noah’s phone. He spotted something in the stock tank, and came barreling back in the house swearing there was a mermaid out there taking a swim. Nothing would do, but for me to go check it out.“ Jacob grinned.

Joseph feigned interest, embarrassed by his own outburst. “I guess he was imagining things - or did you find a beautiful woman from the sea?”

“Yes, as a matter of fact, I did.” At that, Joseph jerked his head up and looked at his brother, trying to see if he was kidding.

“You found a girl in the stock tank?” Aron and Libby said they had a stock tank story, but they wouldn’t share it. Aron said it was too precious and personal to talk about, even with his brothers. Joseph wanted a chance to make memories like that with a woman. He was afraid those dreams would have to be placed on the shelf with his parachute and his running shoes.

“No, I found her in our barn. Stunningly naked.” Jacob drawled the information with the most satisfied smirk that Joseph could ever remember seeing on his brother’s face.

Joseph snorted. “Lucky bastard!”

“She may not have been a mermaid like Nathan first thought,” Jacob smiled, fire in his eyes. “But, he was close. She’s a goddess.”

Joseph looked back out the window. “If she’s in the barn - stunningly naked - what in hell are you doing in here?”

Good question.

Hers to Command by Patricia Knight

Hers to Command

by Patricia Knight

First, I'd like to remind you that this is an erotic book.  Second, I'd like to mention that it is a menage, with M/F/M characters.  For some, this may not be a good fit, so I wanted to put that out there before continuing.  I typically do not read menages, nor do I read M/M erotica.  However, with that being said, I truly enjoyed this book AND adored Fleur, Ari and Doral.  This is far more than three people having sex, it is a story about duty, honor, love, magic and commitment.

So, now let's get to the story at hand. To begin with, we are far in to the future, with a solar date of 4633.  We are on a magical planet called Verdantia, who can speak to her inhabitants with a special connection.  I won't explain everything to you here because you need to read the story to better understand the situation.

What I truly loved about this story is that Fleur is a hell-cat that is not only determined to help her people, and do her duty, but she has an open heart and open mind for not only Ari, but Doral as well.  Ari comes off being very harsh, not willing to go further than his duty, but ends up falling for Fleur.  Doral, always popping up where least expected (he's a spy after all) add a mystique to his character, and although flawed and hurt in the past has a good heart.

Not only do the trio find a place with each other, but a purpose that is greater than any one person's role and they get a unique happily ever after.  I truly enjoyed Ms. Knight's writing style, creativity and ability to express so much emotion.

Released June 4th!!  Grab it HERE:  http://amzn.com/B00D5KVIV2

In an intricate dance of friendship, erotic partnership and selfless love, three natives of the sentient planet Verdantia must come together in an extraordinary effort to save their world…and themselves.

With the lives of the people of the planet hanging in the balance, Verdantia calls three of her own to restore her power. The impossible but gorgeous Conte Camliel Aristos DeTano, the beautiful, innocent future queen Princess Fleur Constante, and the conte’s loyal aide, the angelically handsome yet emotionally-scarred Visconte Doral DeLorion, must fight their own personal demons and assimilate in a poly relationship, lest their planet be lost.

The attraction between the three is palpable and so strong it will either bind them together forever—and restore strength to the energy shield of their planet’s capital—or destroy each of them.
What ensues is a passionate journey that explores and tests trust, friendship and the true meaning of love.

Betrayed by Christina Phillips

Betrayed

by Christina Phillips

What an adventurous story!  Not only was there action, but also secrets and drama, hot steamy sex, forbidden love, history, mythology.  Wow!

I really enjoyed the strength of Nimue and the passion she had with Tacitus.  I love when two characters fight hard to deny their feelings, especially when it goes against the grain of what "society" deems appropriate.  To hell with that!  =)  They have a powerful connection that isn't just physical either and that makes the story more romantic than just erotic...although it is very much that as well.

There's a lot more to this story than just two lovers and that makes it a powerful read.  The secrets they share along the way show the depth of character in both Nimue and Tacitus, as well as the commander.  Not everything is what it seems, but the reader isn't kept from knowing the truth.  There is a huge surprise nearing the end, and the commander turns from being an ogre to someone worthy of happiness.

I don't know much about this period in history, as I am a horrible student in that aspect.  But, when I read an amazing story, like Betrayed, it piques my interest to do research and learn more.  I wanted to learn more about the Romans, the Druids and the time period itself.

Ms. Phillips' writing is wonderful.  She keeps the reader on the edge of their seat and continually brings balance between honor and love.  The sex scenes are beautiful and HOT.  I look forward to reading more from Ms. Phillips!  I think she has a hit here and this should be a best seller.

In 51 A.D., Druid priestess Nimue is injured and enslaved by the hated Roman Legions. Even though she is drawn to her captor, she’s determined to escape and complete her mission for the Briton king and her duty to Arianrhod, the goddess she is bound to.

The tough Roman warrior who captures her is far from the brutal barbarian she expects. His touch inflames her desires and passion burns between them. Though Nimue does not accept her enslavement, her heart surrenders to her enemy. When Arianrhod appears to her in the form of an owl, Nimue knows the union is blessed.

Roman warrior Tacitus is enchanted by the fiery beauty who shows no fear and challenges him at every turn. Though enslaving her goes against his heart, he’s determined to make her his. No woman has ever heated his blood as she does. But when he discovers her true nature as one who actually communes with the gods, his loyalties are torn between his heritage and a woman who could destroy everything he’s ever believed in.

A Romantica® fantasy erotic romance from Ellora’s Cave
*synopsis via Amazon.com*

He leaned toward her. She didn’t flinch as a slave might have done nor lower her gaze as he might expect from a Roman woman. “I wish you to tell me what the matter is.”

A blush swept over her aristocratic cheekbones, but it wasn’t from modesty. It was mortification. “Why? Do you also own my thoughts?”

Realization punched through his chest. She knew. Who the fuck had told her? Rage thundered through his brain. It didn’t matter who had told her. The damage had been done. Now he had to defuse it.

“I have no desire to own your thoughts.”

“Only my body.” The derision in her voice slammed into him as if she had physically attacked him.

“That’s not true.” But if anyone saw her now, naked and on her knees before her master, what else would they think?

Except he wanted more than simply her willing body. He wanted her irreverent responses, no matter how shocking he sometimes found them.

I love this snippet cause it shows her plight, as a slave, her spunk and his honor.  He's more than a roman warrior. He's truly an honorable man.

Chains of Frost by T A Grey

Chains of Frost

(Book 1 The Bellum Sisters Series)

By T.  A. Grey

I loved the sisters!  They each have a very distinctive personality, which in my mind plays a big part in why their father decrees them to certain men to have as their Protectors.  It was as if each man was exactly what the sisters would need to appreciate their personalities and yet at the same time, be strong enough to protect them for the rest of their lives.

Chloe's story starts in this book.  We learn about all of the sisters and get clear glimpses in to each of their paths, but in this first book, Chloe, the eldest, is the focus.  When the three sit and chant a spell to keep them from forced 'marriages', they bring forth a deadly demon unlike anything they've yet to know.  Chloe's demon chases her around until she is in the safety of the Death Castle.  I was so glad when that was resolved, but at the end, I freaked a little for poor Willow (can't give you any spoilers)!

I loved the paranormal element of this erotic romance.  And, the sex was HOT.  I felt SO bad for Chloe, sprawling on the floor BEGGING for sexual release.  I would be embarrassed as all heck.  But, of course, as a succubus, she doesn't worry over such a  human trait.  With the premise being women driven to have sex to survive, you have to know this series is going to be sexy and hot as hell.

By the end, I loved Tyrian and Chloe.  Perfect match, of course.  I enjoyed the glimpses into Willow's interludes with the Alpha Shapeshifter and it hooked me in. Can't wait to get  my hands on Bonds of Fire next!!

Three Fates. Three Sisters.

When a will from her dead father decrees Chloe into the protection of the renowned vampire commander, Tyrian en Kulev, she does what any woman would do--and casts a spell. Things get worse for Chloe when the spell she and her sisters perform summons an ancient demon from deep within the earth. Now she's being hunted by a demon set on killing her and must live at the aptly named Castle Death with the king of cold, Tyrian. Surprisingly, Chloe finds that she doesn't mind her new Protector so much. His cold, impassionate nature needs a firm push to show his true colors, and Chloe thinks she's just the one to do it.

Tyrian en Kulev always pays his debts. When Francis Bellum dies and orders Tyrian to act as his eldest daughter's Protector, Tyrian resigns himself to the position. What should have been a simple deal--keep her in the castle, protect her--has turned difficult. Chloe comes to him with a demon trying to kill her and a sexy attitude that keeps invading his thoughts everywhere he goes. The little succubus easily grabs hold of the heart he'd kept locked away for so long and makes him feel once again. But can they defeat the demon that haunts her and can Tyrian overcome his past and move on to a new future with Chloe?

Chains of Frost is an 85,000 word novel.
*synopsis via Amazon.com*

“Honestly, who upholds any of that old school stuff anyway? No one. My Papa didn’t even pay into the whole patriarchal thing. Seriously, we were raised to be independent and taught not to rely on a man. That fact that he’s… he’s given me to you is ridiculous and completely wrong for him. Just let me go and we’ll call it even. Your debt paid.”

“I can’t do that, Ms. Bellum. I will not dishonor your father and the vow I made to repay my debt to him. You will stay here, under my protection.”
~~~~
Panting, Chloe arched her back off the bed as a blinding energy pulsed inside her. Pants turned into a long, drawn-out moan, and liquid heat pooled between her legs, as her breasts pulled tight and heavy.
She was drugged or had food poisoning. Something was wrong. She moaned as her stomach jerked and another wave of wet release pulsed through her core. What kind of food poisoning did this? No, no, impossible. It wasn’t time yet. She had another day.
Shakily she came to her feet, wobbling so hard she grabbed onto the corner of the bedpost to keep from falling. The wood was hard beneath her hands, solid and thick. She pushed her chest into it, reveling in the hard strength of it, then she rubbed her lips across the wood.
“Oh, my God!” Jerking away from the all-too-sexy post, she wobbled over to the dresser to pull her clothes back on. Oh, God! Each step swished her sex’s lips back and forth, bringing forth a surging need deep within her.
~~~~

With nothing to lose, she darted barefoot across the floor and flung open the study door. Four sets of eyes trained on her, then peered over the single baggy shirt she wore. There was no time for embarrassment. She started toward them, but couldn’t make it. The trip down the hallway, the stairs, and the short sprint here was all too much. Obviously, she was a superhero, because how she managed that with the rampant heat threatening to erupt inside her at any second was simply amazing.

She locked her knees to keep from falling to the ground. She had a feeling she knew what her body would do once she hit the ground. Spread her legs wide and offer herself to any— and all— the warriors watching her. The only thought that barely kept her from doing just that, was the fact she wasn’t wearing panties.

“Please,” she said, her voice a wretched moan.

Tyrian looked over at her with little interest.

Alone with the Pastor By Bella Vaughan

Alone with the Pastor

(Pleasures of Sin)

By Bella Vaughan

Bethany is a nineteen year old living with her strict parents.  More so her mother than father.  Under the illusions that sexual pleasures are forbidden and sinful, Bethany gets caught by her mother, indulging herself.  To heal her daughter of this sinful behavior, Bethany's mother takes her to their single, attractive Pastor.  His methods for healing her are not exactly what Bethany expects and if her mother found out, she'd be mortified.  The young pastor works with her to overcome temptations.  Bethany soon experiences far more in his counsel than she ever imagined.

It is a good short story, tapping in to the angst of being a young woman under the strict rule of a parent.  The content is hot and the pace is fairly quick.  For readers that don't realize it, pastors are not bound to a vow of celibacy, unlike priests.  This story is similar to those of headmasters, teachers or other persons of authority being in a position to indulge in their sexual fantasies.  If you like such story lines, you will enjoy Ms. Vaughn's Alone with the Pastor.

A note to readers:  There is a cliffhanger of sorts when Bethany's best friend seeks the Pastor for her own 'counseling.'

Bethany has a dirty secret. Her pious and God-fearing mother found a dirty magazine in her bedroom.

Worse, she caught Bethany masturbating under the covers. Even worse, she told the new pastor. Pastor Blaine.

Now Bethany has to attend a counseling session with the handsome 30 year-old, could it get any worse? It could, but just maybe it could get a lot better, especially if the Pastor has his own problems with temptation...

Bella Vaughan, in her breakout story "Alone with the Pastor", part one of Pleasures of Sin series, will take you on a sensual and erotic journey that you will not forget in a hurry.

Warning: This 10,000 word erotic story contains hot scenes of reluctant fingering, deflowering, taboo sex, masturbation, oral sex, and virgin sex and is intended for adults only! All characters are age over 18.

BUY HERE--->  http://amzn.com/B00CPT4CMQ

The touch of the Pastor's hands upon her began to affect the nineteen year-old more now and she could feel herself becoming moist. She could not help it, his fingers left a line of fire wherever they ran over her soft skin, and by the time they made their way back to the swell of her bosom she was hoping they would linger there.  They did. For just a moment, before she felt the fingers grasp the top of each of the bra cups and pull them down, revealing her erect nipples.

Reflexively, Bethany opened her eyes and covered herself with her hands.
"Bethany?"
"Yes?" she whispered.
"I know this seems strange, but I need you to be adult about this, put your hands down please."
She shook her head. It just didn't seem right.
"Bethany, do I have to call your mother in here and tell her how long this has been going on? How long you've been thinking about boys and touching yourself like a harlot?"
"No please don't!"
"Fine, then you must do as I ask, I promise it won't hurt." With that he grasped her hands gently and forced them down to her sides, once again revealing her soft breasts..."

A Death Displaced by Andrew Butcher

A Death Displaced

by Andrew Butcher

Grab it here:  http://amzn.com/B008AVNB4S

I find that too often I don't read many suspenseful thrillers, but when I do, I just can NOT put them down. Mr. Butcher does a wonderful job of vividly describing characters, settings; you can smell the scents, envision the sights, feel the essence of everything he describes.

With just the right balance, we go back and forth between more than one person's life. We see them intertwine and with the perfect amount of revelation, one sits on the edge of what is to happen next. I truly want to see Nick (Nicholas) and Juliet come together, as I am a romantic at heart, but with all that has happened, who is to say that will come about? Mr. Butcher obviously has a clear path laid out for all of the characters and I have enjoyed every page so far.

My only regret with this book, as has happened to me before, is it is part of a series! LOL Meaning I need to get the next book as soon as possible. I loved the back story and am inclined to look further in to some of the history that was mentioned. Even though it is fictional, as mentioned in the beginning of the book, it feels real!

Wonderful read for those who enjoy suspense & thrillers as well as those with curiosity of witchcraft, Wiccan or Pagan practices. I've done enough reading over the years to be able to follow along easily. Awesome job! Looking forward to book #2!!!

A woman fated to die. A vision that could save her ...

A Death Displaced:

When Nick has a disturbing daydream of a woman's death, he tries to ignore it, returning to his life of broken relationships and a traumatic past that hangs over him. But when events mimic the daydream, he realises it was a vision of the future. To save a life, he must act fast.

Fated to die, Juliet is saved by a stranger. But not without consequences; she becomes displaced in this world, giving her an unexpected ability. All she wants is to return to her day-to-day routine, successfully running her own business, but it turns out life's not as predictable as she'd once thought.

Set on an island with a dark past of its own, Nick and Juliet must work together, using their newfound abilities to unravel a mystery more connected to Nick than he could ever have imagined.
Readers "can't wait" for the next in the series ...

Carmen's New York Escape by Nikki Sex

Carmen's New York Escape

by Nikki Sex

(book two)

**WARNING:  Explicit Material For Audiences 18+**

My Review:

Carmen's New York  Escape is book two in a three book set (which can be purchased as a trilogy/box set with the link below).  If you haven't already, read my review for book one, Carmen's New York Climax HERE.  With all that being said, let's move on to the scoop for book two.

At the end of book one, Carmen went from being completely ecstatic over the connection she had with Kurt (aka "Thor, god of thunderous orgasms") to realizing that he had been expecting someone else in his hotel room that day and of course, as she has done much of her life, she runs.

Book two starts off with Kurt completely lost as to what really is going on with Carmen.  He finds a woman that is so compatible to him on so many levels, not just physically, and in the blink of an eye she is gone.  Kurt uses what resources he has (including his mentor Andre Chevalier) to find Carmen.  Meanwhile, Carmen is on the run.

As we learn about Carmen's history and why she fears her ex, we step in to a very dark and disturbed world.  Many reviewers have commented on how difficult this part of the story was for them to read.  The truth is, it is deeply disturbing.  Another truth is that BDSM isn't just about sex, it is about mental and spiritual connection between a Dom and sub; complete trust, honesty and understanding.  When we learn better about Carmen's past, we understand better about the difference between depravity and a beautiful, consensual D/s relationship.  Carmen's ex was simply SICK.  Robert, (the ex), in my opinion borders on a psychopath's level of control and manipulation.

Kurt is pretty much Robert's polar opposite and Carmen knows she is safe in his arms, under his control.  But, it's not just Kurt and Robert looking for her.  It's also the DEA.  And possibly the Mexican Mafia. She fears that if anyone finds her, she will end up back in a cage, hidden in Robert's basement, chained and used for his greedy desires.  Carmen is clever and realizes someone's following her.  Despite her urge to run, she reaches out to Kurt to accept the help he offers.  If anyone can help her, it has to be him.

By the end of book two, Carmen and Kurt are once again wrapped in each other's arms.  There are still many things that Kurt does not know, but Carmen is his and he is willing to help her, protect her and keep her in his life.  Book three, Carmen's New York Love will wrap up the story and tie up all the loose ends.  I look forward to a HEA for Carmen.  Ms. Sex has created a powerful, emotional story that is hot and steamy.

Please note:  this it book TWO of a three book set!!

I found the perfect woman, he thought. And then I immediately lost her. Generous, sexually compatible, smart and funny. What we had together was more than sex. It was like magic. Surely she felt it too?

"That is an oui, alright," Kurt said. "I have had good sex with lots of women, André, but this one just did it for me on so many levels. She's smart and sexy and funny. I want to explore what I feel for her, and when I find her I want to bring her to you. We should have a ménage together just for fun. Carmen would be up for it, I bet. I'd really like to know what you think of her."

Across Eternity by Aris Whittier

Across  Eternity

by Aris Whittier

My Review

"Remember, anything is possible."  Those are Logan's words to Amber, shortly after he meets her in the fancy restaurant where she works.

Yes, anything is possible.  It is possible that two souls meant to be together, continuously find one another, time after time.  That even death does not destroy the connection the two souls have to one another.  Death simply disrupts their time, until they can be together again.  That is what happens between Logan and Amber.

Logan is a rich entrepreneur who is seeking out his soul-mate.  He knows her well.  Her name, face and features may change, but the person inside and the connection they have cannot be broken.  Logan is special.  He is someone who loves with every ounce of his being.  He traveled the world to find her.  He remembers everything.  When he finds Amber, he has to learn who she is now and help her to remember who they had been before.  He's known her all his life and if he can convince her to give him a chance, he can help her to learn what love is and bring her to a place where she can have everything she's ever dreamed of.  The only problem is explaining everything to her.  Instead of just telling her, he goes about trying to show her and helping her to see the amazing truth herself.

Amber feels a connection to Logan the moment she sets eyes on him.  She can't explain it, but she is drawn to him.  She agrees to spend time with him, not knowing who he is but feeling that she wants to understand him.  They start off slow and Amber learns that Logan is a man with many talents and has a good heart.  The more time they spend together, the more she questions everything.  Logan shares some details with her, but yet she doesn't remember him.  The closer the two become, the more Amber falls for him.

If you've ever read a Nicholas Sparks book, you will enjoy Across Eternity.  You will need a box of tissues at the end though because this love story is romantic and bittersweet.  I won't spoil the ending or tell you too many details, because that would ruin it for you.  I will just say that Ms. Whittier has created a beautiful story that engages the heart and makes the reader wonder about true love and soul mates.  I felt my heart soar throughout the story and ache by the end.  Bittersweet covers the essence of this story the best.

Learn to love, learn to live, and learn to let go.  These are the greatest gifts we can give to others.  Live the life you heart begs for.  Love the people in your life.  When it's time, let them go from this place, knowing they are never truly gone.

Synopsis:

Logan Richards is doubly blessed. Not only is he a genius but he has a rare gift, he remembers things and not just from this life but all his lifetimes. He lives a life of wealth and luxury and has never lacked any material possession. There has never been an obstacle his intellect couldn't overcome. But Logan has a problem: every night he dreams of the same woman, a woman he has dreamt of all his life. He knows she is real and he is determined to find her and convince her she belongs with him, forever.

Amber Lewis, a waitress for a five-star restaurant in Dana Point, California, is overworked and stressed. Her sister's death has left her weary and wondering if there's something more to life than mere existence. Then, one evening while working she meets Logan Richards, a chivalrous man who feels deeply familiar.

Fate has brought them together, but will their growing love prove strong enough to resist the forces that could pull them apart?
